Missiles hurled at passing cars

A SENIOR Kent police officer has issued a warning after objects were thrown at cars twice in one day in the Rochester area.

The first incident was reported to police at about 10.20am on Monday after a missile, possibly a stone, smashed a driver's side window.

The driver was left covered in glass. The exact location of the incident is under investigation.

The second incident was reported at around 2pm after an object, possibly a brick, was thrown at a car travelling in Grain Road, Lower Stoke.

Once again the driver and her son were covered in glass. Although shocked, they were not injured.

Insp David Coleman said: "These were dangerous and thoughtless acts of vandalism that could have resulted in someone being seriously hurt of even killed.

"Criminal damage and endangering the lives of road users is an offence and we will not hesitate in making arrests when even appropriate."
