Motorcyclist injured in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with chest injuries last night after coming off his bike on the A228 near the Tesco store at Larkfield.

A bike rider was the only person involved, but the driver of a Volvo car pulled over to offer help until the emergency services arrived.

Maidstone and Malling Police and Kent Ambulance were called, and the motorcyclist was taken to Maidstone Hospital.

Police closed the road from Junction 4 of the M20 to the roundabout at the Snodland bypass in order the recover the motorcycle.

The accident happened at around 9.25pm. The road was reopened shortly before midnight. Police still do not know what caused the accident.
