Motorist charged over M2 death crash

A 24-year-old man is due in court today in connection with the death of a man on a Kent motorway.

Steven O'Riley is accused of causing death by dangerous driving after a three-car pile-up on the M2 in the early hours of Friday morning.

The crash, which happened at around 3.30am on the coastbound carriageway near Farthing Corner services, Gillingham, claimed the life of a man in his 50s. He has not yet been named.

O'Riley, of Upper Churchtown Road, Dublin, Ireland, is due to appear before Medway magistrates. He is also charged with having no insurance.

The crash was one of three separate ones on the M2 that day, which caused traffic chaos in the area.
