NEW powers cracking down on the misuse of fireworks have been passed by the government, and they are getting the thumbs-up from Kent MP Steve Ladyman.

Dr Ladyman, who represents Thanet South, has been campaigning for the new regulations which rule against under 18s possessing fireworks and put a curfew on firework displays.
