A suite of furniture dumped by fly-tippers has now been seen in woods five miles from where it was originally discarded.

The Kentish Express pictured the sofa and two armchairs dumped in fields on Bears Lane, Great Chart, back on August 25.

But soon after that the three-piece suite disappeared.

However, one reader was amazed to see the suite of furniture while walking near Wissenden Lane, Bethersden, at the weekend.

The woman, who asked not to be named, said: "My husband and I took our dog for a walk in the woods and what should we see but the same three-piece suite dumped just inside the woods.

"If it isn't the same suite then it must be a massive coincidence."

We were originally alerted to the fly-tipping of the furniture in a clearing in fields in Bears Lane, Great Chart, by Rick Kemp, 62, who lives near the original dumping point.

He believed those responsible may have been scared off, setting fire to the suite there as empty jerry cans were also left at the scene.

But, exactly how the suite made the five-mile journey up winding country lanes to Bethersden remains a mystery.
