PUPILS, staff and friends of Warren Wood Primary School in Rochester have dedicated a new building to their late head teacher, Peter Coker.

A building to link the infant and junior schools was the dream of Mr Coker, who died of cancer in May, aged 55.

The new building provides two classrooms, computer site, speech therapy room, resource base and central staff room. The previous staff room has been refurbished and restored to its former use.

Pupils helped plant a memorial tree for Mr Coker in the newly landcaped garden and Rose Collinson, council director of education and leisure, cut a ribbon and unveiled a plaque.
