FAST food fans will be able to satisfy cravings for burgers and chips at any time after councillors allowed McDonalds to open throughout the night.

Managers at the restaurant on the Thanet Way at Chestfield have been given permission to serve food and non-alcoholic drinks via the drive through until 5am, when the main restaurant opens.

They promise a manager will be on duty throughout the night to deal with any problems and already have CCTV in place, but the application still prompted complaints from people in the nearby village.
