Pedestrian seriously hurt crossing road

POLICE are investigating after an 83-year-old woman pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries in a road accident.

The woman was crossing Bromley High Street on Wednesday afternoon when she was in collision with a blue van travelling north up the road.

She was taken to King's College Hospital in London with serious head injuries. She is said to be in a stable condition.

Police closed off the road for several hours to investigate and put up barriers in the central reservation of the road to prevent other people crossing.
