"Peeping Tom" scare for woman in toilet

A woman using the toilets in a Rochester wine bar raised the alarm when she saw a man peering over the top of the cubicle.

Police are appealing for information following the incident, which happened on June 12 at about 10.15pm but has only just been made public.

The woman, aged 33, was in the toilets in the Enigma wine bar, High Street, Rochester, when she saw the man peering over the top of the door.

When he realised he had been seen, the man walked out of the bar and towards the railway station.

The suspect is described as being a black male, aged between 25 and 27, of slight build with a bald or shaved head. He was wearing white and black trainers, a white hooded top and a dark coloured jacket.

The incident is being investigated by Det Con Steve Goldsmith, who said: ‘I would ask anyone who may recognise the description of the man or who has any information that may help us with this investigation to come forward.’
