Pilot's death was an accident

AN inquest heard how a pilot was killed when his parachute plane failed to take off and crashed into a static aircraft after he incorrectly set the wing flaps.

A jury returned a verdict of accidental death on Steven Davis after a two day hearing at County Hall, Maidstone.

Mr Davis, from Orpington, died of multiple injuries in March last year, after the de Havilland Turbo Beaver failed to get airbourne and struck a redundant fighter plane. None of his passengers was seriously hurt.
