Police name couple found shot dead

DETECTIVES have identified a couple found shot dead at a house in Abbey Wood yesterday morning.

The bodies of Susan Starbuck, 43, and Mark Anthony Williams, 37, were discovered by police at around 9.25am at Ms Starbuck’s home in Bracondale Road.

Williams had been serving four years for GBH and was being hunted by police after reportedly absconding from an open prison on December 13, 2006.

Forensic officers are still examining the house while detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s specialist crime directorate continue with the murder investigation.

The pair were declared dead at the scene where a sawn-off shotgun was also recovered.

Next of kin have been notified and police have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murders at this time.

A post mortem is being carried out. A spokesman for the Met police, said: "At this early stage, police are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances."
