Post mortem on death crash passenger

A POST mortem examination is to carried out to find the cause of death of 20-year-old woman from Ramsgate following a fatal car crash at Brooksend Hill at Birchington. on Monday night.

Police say the woman has been formally identified but they are not yet releasing her name.

The crash happened on Monday shortly after 10.30pm on the A28 dual carriageway near Seamark Road when a Vauxhall Cavalier travelling towards Margate veered across the central reservation into the path of a Seat car going towards St Nicholas.

The dead woman was a front seat passenger in the Cavalier. A man in the back seat suffered serious leg injuries and is being treated at the Queen Mother hospital at

Margate.

The driver and passenger in the Seat suffered shock and minor injuries.

Inquiries are continuing to trace the identity of the Cavalier driver. Witnesses are asked to contact PC Dave Lavender at Margate police station on 01843 222124.
