Detectives in Medway will appear on national television tonight as they try to locate two men who are wanted in connection with a rape.

It is hoped the Crimewatch appeal will help police who are investigating the rape of a 19-year-old woman.

The incident happened in Rochester High Street in the early hours of Sunday, November 4 last year.

Det Sgt Adam Marshall will be in the Crimewatch studio tonight to answer calls from people who may be able to offer information.

Ali Khardo, 22, and Shamal Hussain, 20,were initially arrested but failed to return after being bailed pending further enquiries.

Det Sgt Marshall said: “We have conducted numerous appeals locally and are now hoping this high-profile national coverage will provide us with the information we need to allow us to progress our investigation.”

Back in March this year, police took the unusual step of releasing the images of the men and asking people to get in touch if they knew where they were.

Anyone with information should call police on 01634 891055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Crimewatch is on BBC1 at 9pm
