Road reopens after truck and van collide

The coastbound carriageway of the A2 has reopened after a two-vehicle collision.

The emergency services were called to the scene close to Barham, near Canterbury just before 12.30pm today after the collision between a 3.5 tonne van and a lorry.

One person was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The coastbound carriageway was closed at the junction with Out Elmstead Lane near Barham, around one mile from the Bridge turn off past Canterbury, to allow both vehicles to be recovered and for fluid on the carriageway to be cleared.

It reopened fully at 2.20pm.
