Robber with shotgun flees on pedal cycle

A ROBBER armed with a shotgun demanded cash from a member of staff at a fish farm and then escaped on a pedal cycle.

The raider walked into the shop at the Hawkhurst Fish Farm in Hastings Road, Hawkhurst, on Sunday between 5.30pm and 5.45pm.

Police say he threatened the employee and fled with money from the till. He climbed on to a bicycle and turned left out of the main entrance in the direction of Hastings. No-one was hurt during the incident.

The man is described as white and thought to be aged between 43 and 47. He is about 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing a hooded raincoat, dark coloured trousers. His face was covered with a dust mask.

Police would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time of the incident who may have witnessed someone on a bike going into, or leaving, the farm.
