Robbie Joseph has missed out on his latest appearance for Kent this season.

The 28-year-old fast bowler sent down six overs for Lordswood in the Kent League against Bromley at the weekend and was due to play in the Second XI three-day friendly against Sussex at Maidstone this week.

However, team director Paul Farbrace said: “Robbie was due to see a specialist as he still suffering from a build-up of fluid in the joint. He can bowl, but he can’t throw”.

New Sri Lankan overseas signing Malinga Bandara claimed four wickets on his first appearance at The Mote, after arriving in the country at the weekend.

He is due to make his first team debut for the Spitfires in the Friends Provident t20 opener against Essex Eagles at Chelmsford next Wednesday.

However, Tony Palladino has returned to Essex only two weeks into his one month stay.

Farbrace said “The loan deal has been terminated.”
