Rochester Grammar School for Girls

SIXTH formers from Rochester Grammar School for Girls enjoyed a double celebration at the Corn Exchange on Friday night, when they held their annual prom.

The girls were letting off steam after the end of their exams, as well as marking the end of their school careers.

"Now we have the nail-biting wait until the examination results come through," said Jay Briant, social officer for her year, who was one of the organisers. She was helped by Claire Tolman and Rosemary Chester.

Altogether about 80 girls and their partners attended the prom, where they had end of term pictures taken and enjoyed a buffet and disco.

"Everyone had a great time," said Jay. "I think most people were relieved that the exams were over and were ready to enjoy themselves."
