Chatham Town had to settle for a point after a roller-coaster 4-4 draw at home to Merstham in Ryman League Division 1 South on Saturday.

Billy Shinners put Paul Foley's (pictured) side ahead on 17 minutes only for the visitors to level on the half hour.

Leroy Huggins restored the Chats' advantage four minutes before half-time but there was still time for Merstham to grab a second to go in level.

Brad Potter made it 3-2 two minutes after the restart but the visitors levelled for the third time on the hour.

Shinners' second looked to have won the game with 20 minutes remaining but Merstham equalised for the fourth time nine minutes from time to leave Chatham six points from safety.
