Chatham hit four goals past Fleet Town on Tuesday to leapfrog the visitors in the Ryman League Division 1 South table.

Fleet had two players sent off in the match as Chatham climbed up to 17th.

Jason Barton put Chatham ahead after 12 minutes and they doubled that advantage when Kane Rice scored on the half-hour.

A dismissal for Jamie McClurg was soon followed by a third Chatham goal courtesy of Billy Shinners.

The visitors pulled a goal back 10 minutes from time through Read but Ryan Restell restored Chatham's three-goal lead a minute later.

Fleet's misery was complete two minutes later when they were reduced to nine men after another red card, this time for Leigh Rumbold.

Elsewhere in Division 1 South, Whitstable earned a valuable point in their fight against relegation with a 1-1 draw at high-flying Whitehawk.

Jerahl Hughes put Whitehawk ahead on the half-hour but Steven Lloyd netted an equaliser 18 minutes from time.
