Tonbridge Angels cruised to victory over Ryman League Premier Division promotion rivals Billericay to move into the playoff places.

First-half goals from Lee Browning and Lewis Taylor sent the hosts on their way and despite a reply from the Essex side 25 minutes from time, Browning's second made it four wins on the spin for Tommy Warrilow's (pictured) side since the turn of the year.

Margate's up and down form continued with a 2-0 defeat at Canvey Island which left them 14th and nine points above the drop-zone.

Two first-half goals and a Shaun Welford penalty miss late-on were enough to send Gate to their second defeat in three, though their alternating pattern over the previous half-dozen games suggests they should win next time out against Hastings.

Nine-man Maidstone United held in-form Harrow Borough to a goalless draw at Homelands.

In his first appearance in his second spell at the club Jay Saunders went close for the hosts before being sent-off for a second booking on the hour.

United then lost influential midfielder Alex Flisher with a knee injury after a nasty challenge 15 minutes from time and Stones went down to nine 10 minutes from time when teenage debutant Laurence Harvey - who had been on the field for less than 20 minutes - saw red after jumping for a header in the Harrow area.

The stalemate means Stones are a point from safety, though teams around them have a game in hand,

Folkestone Invicta slipped to a 2-1 defeat at fellow strugglers Croydon Athletic to slip further into the relegation mire .

Invicta were 1-0 down at the break and fell two goals before Simon Austin set up a tense finish with an Invicta goal, but Neil Cugley's side are four points from safety and only above basement boys Croydon on goal difference.
