Cray Wanderers went down 1-0 at Met Police on Saturday to slip out of the Ryman League, Premier Division play-off places.

It was a story of two penalties as the hosts converted from the spot shortly before the hour, while Tommy Whitnell missed the chance to equalise from 12 yards five minutes later, hitting the post after Leigh Bremner (pictured) had been fouled in the box.

The Wands are down to seventh but remain six points off the top having played two fewer games than leaders AFC Hornchurch.

Maidstone United ended Dulwich Hamlet's unbeaten run with a 2-0 win to take over at the summit of Ryman League Division 1 South.

It took the Stones just two minutes to open the scoring when Michael Phillips' cross was flicked on for Shaun Welford to fire in his 16th goal of the season.

United had one cleared off the line and Welford hit the post before Ellis Green rounded off a delightful team move with a superb finish to make it 2-0 on 12 minutes, and despite Maidstone dominating proceedings, they could not build on their lead.

Ramsgate came from behind to win 2-1 at Burgess Hill Town to move within four points of the play-off places.

Despite the Rams making a lively start, the hosts opened the scoring with a lob on 10 minutes but Mark Lovell hassled the home side into conceding a penalty for handball on 20 minutes and converted the spot-kick himself.

Danny Twyman kept the Rams level with a superb diving save just after the half hour and Lovell made the hosts pay with a fine header from Pascal Ebigbo's fine cross three minutes before the break.

Hythe Town twice came from behind to edge Crawley Down 3-2 to go 11th.

The hosts went ahead on three minutes, only for Richard Sinden to level just after the half-hour, but Down went in 2-1 ahead with a goal a minute before the break.

However stand-in striker Pat Kingwell turned the game on its head with a brace in two minutes just before the hour.

Sittingbourne went down 2-1 at Croydon Athletic to suffer their third straight defeat.

The Brickies fell behind just before the hour but looked to have earned a point four minutes from time when Billy Manners battled to win possession and fed Ryan Golding who curled a delightful shot into the net.

However with time running out Jaie Nuttall brought down James Fray in the area allowing the Lambs to snatch victory from the penalty spot.

Folkestone Invicta and Faversham Town played out an entertaining 0-0 draw at the Buzzlines in Invicta boss Neil Cugley's 600th league game in charge of the Stripes, who remained fourth, while tghe Lilywhites leapfrogged Sittingbourne into 14th.

Managerless Whitstable Town went down 3-0 at Whitehawk and are four points ahead of the drop-zone having played two games more.

The promotion-chasing hosts effectively sealed the points before the break, opening the scoring and then adding the crucial second just before the break, with a third arriving after the interval.

Thamesmead Town upset leaders Grays 2-1 to go seventh in Division 1 North.

Mead took a shock lead two minutes before the interval when Theo Fairweather-Johnson charged down a clearance and rolled the ball home.

The hosts missed a penalty on 64 minutes after Mead were penalised for handball, but keeper Sam Mott was eventually beaten four minutes from time as grays looked to have earned a point.

However in the final moments Bradley Killick was put through and was brought down by the Grays keeper, which earned Mead a penalty and after the keeper was sent-off, Ashley Proberts kept his cool to convert from 12 yards.

Chatham Town's struggles continued as they lost 1-0 at AFC Sudbury - their second 1-0 away defeat in four days - secured by a goal after just seven minutes.
