Hythe Town achieved their best result of the season in Ryman League Division 1 South on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over second-placed Dulwich Hamlet.

Brendon Cass scored the only goal after 52 minutes at Reachfields to inflict only a third defeat of the season on Hamlet.

Folkestone Invicta also pulled off an excellent 1-0 at fellow high-fliers Whitehawk.

James Everitt put Invicta in front after 12 minutes and they then hung on to their slender advantage thanks partly to some superb saves by keeper Jack Delo.

Ramsgate were also good winners away from home, with a goal from Ben Laslett and a Warren Schulz penalty earning them a 2-1 success at Walton & Hersham.

But two Kent clubs suffered five-goal defeats. Maidstone United slumped to their fifth successive league defeat, going down 5-1 at Worthing where Shaun Welford's 30th-minute strike provided the only moment of joy for Stones.

And Whitstable Town were beaten 5-2 at home by leaders Bognor Regis, who were 3-0 up inside 25 minutes. Whitstable's goals came from Scott Heard and Dane Luchford.

Faversham Town drew 1-1 at Chipstead, with Ashley Brown on target for Ray Turner's side, while Sittingbourne drew 0-0 at home with Burgess Hill.

In Division 1 North,Chatham Town made it four games unbeaten with a 4-2 home win over Soham Town Rangers thanks to goals by Joe Fuller, Chris Hill, Lee Hales and Garry Tilley, but Thamesmead Town went down 5-0 at second-placed Enfield Town.

Margate's six-match unbeaten run in the Ryman League Premier Division came to an end with a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Met Police, with Gate's late goal coming from substitute Adam Burchell.

Cray Wanderers won 2-0 at Wingate & Finchley to move one point outside behind the play-off places.

Dan Young and Tommy Whitnell scored the goals to take Wands sixth.
