School kids play a lot of junk

Children created their own junk orchestra with tin cans, plastic bottles and metal bowls.

Junk Rock was performed by pupils from The Rochester Grammar School and Grange Park School, a special school for autistic children.

The project was part of a two-week collaborative music and art project organised by the creative arts charity, Create.

Students spent the first week with a visual artist considering recycling and the environment and working with reclaimed materials.

In the second week they explored various sounds and rhythms and created their own original pieces of music.
