Selection dilemma

Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley admits he has a few selections issues to think about following his side’s FA Cup replay victory against Sevenoaks on Tuesday evening.

James Corbett (injured) and Andy Pugh (ineligible) missed the game, as Lee Spiller make his debut in midfield and James Everitt moved up alongside James Dryden in attack.

“Tuesday’s performance has certainly given me something to ponder,” Cugley said. “Lee Spiller played very well in the centre of the park. His experience shone through alongside Jimmy Jackson, who also played well.

“We’ll have Andy Pugh back on Saturday, and there’s a fair chance he could play. James Everitt is in contention after his goals on Tuesday and Jimmy Corbett could be back too.

“Wilko (Craig Wilkins) should also be back in two weeks, so with everybody fit we’ll have a nice little competition going for starting places.”

Cugley is convinced that with the way his side are playing at the moment, there can only be better times ahead for Invicta.

The team face a tough game against Dulwich Hamlet at the Buzzlines Stadium on Saturday, before a trip to struggling Whyteleafe on Tuesday.

“Dulwich are one of the better sides in the division,” Cugley admitted. “They will be up in the top seven or eight come the end of the season. Even so, with the game being at home it’s one that we’ve got to be looking to win.”
