A TEENAGER whose house caught fire just before Christmas called the fire brigade after seeing another two burning.

Darren Adams, 17, was driving along the A2 in Rainham when he saw smoke billowing from two houses behind it.

He stopped his car outside the house in South Avenue, ran towards it and started banging on doors and windows to see if anyone was inside.

He rang the fire brigade and waited with his mother and sister for them to arrive.

He said: "It looked really bad. Thankfully, nobody was inside."

The kind-hearted youngster then penned a letter to the owners telling them he knows how they feel after his family home caught alight in December.
