An ex-PE teacher who ran a brothel with his wife is now advertising himself as a professional masseur.

Gigolo Tim Blake-Bowell runs a service called Relaxing Hands, calls himself Tim Smith and says he wants to put his criminal past behind him.

The 51-year-old, pictured left, insists it is not a sexual service and instead focuses on sports injuries and rehabilitation.

In 2009, Blake-Bowell was jailed for nine months after he admitted controlling prostitution by running a brothel in Gordon Road, Wincheap.

And last week he appeared before a disciplinary hearing at the Teaching Agency in Coventry, which found him guilty of professional misconduct.

It is due to announce his punishment next week. He could be struck off from the profession for life.

It was while working as a PE teacher at King Ethelbert's School, in Birchington, that Blake-Bowell worked as a prostitute and he and his wife Emma ran the brothel in which six women worked.

Emma, who called herself Brandy, was sentenced to a nine-month suspended prison term after a judge at Canterbury Crown Court ruled she had been pressured into working as a prostitute.

Blake-Bowell lost his job at the school and has said he has no intention of working as a teacher again.

The dad-of-four has now said he is trying to move on with his life.

Blake-Bowell said: "I changed my name because I'm trying to rebuild my life.

"Having this brought up again has ruined three years of rehab for my family. I made a mistake and I put my hands up to it.

"I hope that one day I will be able to work with disaffected young people and use my skills to teach them about literacy and numeracy and try to teach them about how to not make the mistakes I made.

"I know what life is like behind a door in prison."

As well as having a degree in sports science from Canterbury Christ Church University, Blake-Bowell has qualifications in massage therapy.

His Relaxing Hands website promises "a professional deep tissue massage, a thorough sports massage or a relaxing holistic massage for all genders and persuasions to support the every day busy individual and active sports person".
