D-Day landings
D-Day landings

THERE are key moments where you can always remember where you were and what you were doing.

The moment President Kennedy was shot, the day the Berlin wall fell, and the heart-stopping minutes in which the Twin Towers crumbled.

This year marks the 65th anniversay of one of the most extrordinary acts of the Second World War. On June 6, 1944, otherwise known as D-day, Britain, together with the other Allied forces, sought to release mainland Europe from the clutches of the Nazis.

The D-day landings were the pivotal moment of the war which brought victory to the Allies and freed Europe from Nazi oppression. We want to know where you were on that day. Whether you were fighting or at home going about your business.

Did you know that when the Allied forces landed on the beaches, Hitler was asleep. What were you doing on D-day?
