Sheppey prisoner on the run

A BURGLAR who absconded from Standford Hill prison in Sheppey after serving just five days of his sentence is still at large.

Frederick John King, 21, who was sentenced to two-and-a-half years, arrived at the Eastchurch open prison on Thursday, September 2, but left the following Tuesday.

It is believed King may have returned to his native Hailsham area and he is thought to have contacts in Eastbourne.

A spokesman from the Home Office said on Tuesday: "He's not been picked up yet."
