The driver of this car managed to scramble to safety

The driver of this car had a lucky escape after it plunged into a swollen stream this morning.

A recovery lorry was needed to pull the stranded Ford Focus out of the water close to a bridge in South Willesborough, near Ashford.

The driver was forced to scramble to safety after a collision with a Ford Fiesta forced the vehicle into the stream at about 8am.

Police said both drivers escaped without injury close to The Albion pub.
