Teenage girl dies after car hits tree

A TEENAGE girl was killed in a car crash on Sunday which seriously injured her boyfriend.

The 16-year-old from Ashford died at the scene after their yellow Citroen Saxo hit a tree and overturned on the A28, just past the junction with Bull Lane, near Bethersden, at 7.30pm.

The 21-year-old driver, who is from High Halden, suffered a broken leg and was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, where he had surgery.

The road was closed for more than two hours following the accident.
