Teenager and young man killed in crashes

A MAN and a teenage boy were killed in separate road accidents in Kent at the weekend.

Police were called to Reading Street, Tenterden, near Ashford, shortly after 7pm on Saturday following a report that a green Kawasaki motorcycle had been in collision with a silver Volkswagen Polo.

The motorcyclist, a local man in his 20s, died at the scene. No one else was injured.

The motorcycle had been travelling along Reading Street towards Appledore.

The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours while police carried out

investigations.

On Friday night, a 16-year-old boy, a passenger in the back of a blue Rover car, died when the vehicle crashed into a tree.

The tragedy happened on the A259 Dymchurch Road, Dymchurch, near Hythe, just before midnight. The boy died at the scene. He has not yet been named.

The driver and other passenger were taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital but their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Kent Police closed the road for around six hours while they investigated the crash.
