Teenager stabbed in seaside town

Police have arrested five people after a 19-year-old was stabbed in a Kent seaside town.

The young man is stable in QEQM Hospital following the incident at around 8.15pm yesterday in Milton Square, Margate.

The five, a 20-year-old man, two 15-year-old boys, a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl, are awaiting questioning in police custody.

Police are looking for witnesses.

Det Insp Chris Carter, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would like to ask anyone who may have been in the area at around the time of the assault and who has information that will be useful to our investigation to contact detectives at Margate police station."
