Teenagers 'critical' after car hits tree

TWO teenagers were seriously injured when the car they were travelling in collided with a tree.

The blue Ford Mondeo was travelling along Pike Road, Tilmanstone, near Deal, at about 12.50pm on Sunday when it hit a tree 50 yards north of the junction with School Lane.

The driver, a 17-year-old male from Eythorne and a 17-year-old male back seat passenger, also from the local area, were airlifted to the QEQM Hospital in Margate with serious injuries.

The driver has since been moved to Kings College Hospital in London. Both are in a critical condition.

An 18-year-old woman from Eastry who was in the front passenger seat, was driven by ambulance to the QEQM with leg injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Mondeo prior to it, is asked to contact the Witness Line on 01622 600970.
