Teenagers impaled on fence posts still in hospital

TWO teenagers are still in hospital with serious head injuries after they were impaled on wooden fence posts in a car accident.

Emergency services were called to an accident involving a single car in Pinkham, East Peckham, at about 5.15am on Wednesday,

The car, a silver Vauxhall Corsa containing four people, had veered off the road and into a timber fence.

Firefighting crews from Tonbridge and Paddock Wood used an electric saw to free two seriously injured male and female passengers and a third person from the car.

All four passengers were taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridhe Wells where the two seriously injured teenagers received treatment.

The male casualty has since been transferred to the Queen Victoria Hospital at East Grinstead in Sussex for specialist treatment, while the injured female remains at Kent and Sussex Hospital in a stable condition.
