Teens released on bail after reports of Sittingbourne train passenger with knife

Two teenagers arrested after reports of a train passenger with a knife have been released on bail.

The pair - aged 15 and 16 - were held on suspicion of affray after the incident at Sittingbourne railway station.

British Transport Police were called after reports someone was carrying a weapon and claims there had been a robbery.

Officers went to the scene and the police helicopter was also called in to join the search.

A British Transport Police spokesman the teenagers have now been released on bail pending further inquiries until Monday, October 15.

They are a 15-year-old, from Sheerness, and a 16-year-old, from Wapping, east London.
