Traffic misery on M25 for second day in a row

KENT Police today shut two lanes of the M25 between junctions four and five near Sevenoaks after a lorry burst into flames.

For the second day running, major delays affected the clockwise carriageway of the motorway.

A spokesman for the Highways Agency said all lanes on the motorway had reopened by 10am.

On Friday, a four-vehicle crash on the Surrey section of the M25 caused chaos for thousands of motorists. Tailbacks stretched back for many miles into Kent.

A young man was taken to hospital with serious chest injuries following Friday's accident which happened at around 7.30am.

The closure led to delays for motorists heading for Gatwick Airport in Sussex via the M23.
