Tragedy as BMW plunges down embankment

KENT Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the M25 which claimed the life of a young man driving a BMW.

The tragedy happened on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25, just before the junction with the M26, on Saturday, December 30, shortly before 1.30am.

The car collided with a crash barrier then left the road and went down a 30-foot embankment.

The victim, who died from his injuries at the scene, has not yet been named but is believed to be a 25-year-old man from Essex.

Police Sgt Lorraine Silvester said: "The driver was alone in the car. No other vehicles were involved. The cause of the collision is so far not known."
