A pensioner is in a critical condition after his vintage motorbike crashed with a 4x4 towing a caravan.

Police are now appealing for witnesses after the incident which took place on Kingsford Street between Ashford and Mersham on Sunday at 10am.

The 75-year-old Folkestone man was riding a black and red Norman motorcycle when it collided with a caravan being towed by a black Hyundai Tucson.

The man was riding with three other motorcyclists who were not injured. The driver of the 4x4 was also not injured.

The motorcyclist was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital with a serious leg injury. He is currently in a critical condition.

Kingsford Street, between the Blind Lane and Highfield Lane junctions, was closed for several hours to allow officers to investigate the collision.
