A difficult month for the Gills is over and now it’s time for you to vote for the stand-out player during February.

The month started with a 4-0 thumping at Brentford and a 1-0 home defeat to Tranmere that left boss Mark Stimson fearing for his job.

Stimson changed things around, culminating in the only win of the month, against Bristol Rovers and a point on the road at Yeovil.

A 1-1 draw against Leyton Orient was followed by Saturday’s defeat at Carlisle, which ended the mini improvement in results, and leaves the Gills sitting too close to the relegation zone for comfort.

We’ve created a short-list of six players to choose from for the February player of the month award. Pick from the following;

His impressive performances in central defence earned him an extended stay on loan from Cardiff City. He has grown in confidence throughout his stay at Priestfield and looks a decent prospect.

Stimson finally got his man and the striker’s return coincided with Gills’ return to winning form. He laid on the goal for Simeon Jackson in the 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers and got on the scoresheet himself against Leyton Orient.

The Gills captain played several minutes with a broken arm against Leyton Orient and that showed the character of the man. Never afraid to get stuck in and always up for the fight. He’ll be missed in the run-on as it showed on Saturday.

Called back into the team and was back on the scoresheet with his 15th of the season against Bristol Rovers. His winner was a glimpse of Jackson’s early season form which Gills fans will hope he recaptures fully.

Alan Julian

Picked himself up well from the Brentford defeat with some great saves which earned the club a couple of clean sheets. Made some exceptional close range reflex saves of late and has kept popular ‘keeper Simon Royce on the bench.

The big defender is keeping Josh Gowling sidelined with some no-nonsence defending and has formed a good partnership alongside Irishman Darren Dennehy.
