Widespread delays on Southeastern trains this evening due to signal failures

Several London stations are overcrowded this evening following widespread delays on Southeastern's train network due to signal failures.

Several services have been delayed or cancelled leading to large crowds at Cannon Street and Victoria Stations.

Southeastern said the delays are due to signal failures - it is not clear if this is related to the hot weather.

Free water has been handed out by the train company at several stations to help people combat the heat.

Passengers on crowded trains have taken to social media to berate Southeastern for treating them 'like cattle' on some of the hottest days of the year.

Standard tickets are being accepted on the high speed service and all lines are currently open.

Delays are expected to clear later tonight.
