Tim Finemore from Dover wins kmfm's 3 Grand in the Sand at Birchington

One lucky winner has dug up spades of cash on a beach today in a competition organised by kmfm.

Listener Tim Finemore from Dover was one of 10 lucky finalists from Garry and Emma's breakfast show to head for Epple Bay at Birchington.

The 57-year-old father-of-two, who is a carer for his wife Carol, struck gold and is now planning to treat the two of them to a luxury break.

The finalists won their 'plots' on the show after managing to recall 10 holiday items from 20 read to them very quickly, in just 20 seconds.

All of them have bagged P&O VIP crossings and goodies but it was Tim's lucky plot number six which produced the bumper prize voucher.

He said: "I can't believe it. I'm not usually that lucky but this really is a huge sum of money for us.

"I am going to make sure we enjoy a fantastic holiday away somewhere because we haven't been able to for a long time."
