A woman in her mid-40s has been airlifted to hospital after a sledging accident in a park along the esplanade in Rochester.

She suffered serious head injuries, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.

The woman is being treated at the Neuro-surgical centre at Queens Hospital in Romford, Essex after being flown there at around 1.15pm.

Initial reports suggest the sledge may have hit a car.

It comes just a day after a man was airlifted to hospital after a sledging accident in Broomhill Park, Strood.
