Woman dies after three-vehicle crash

A WOMAN was killed and four other people injured after a three-vehicle collision during last night’s rush hour.

The accident happened at about 6.15pm on the A21 on the Kent-Sussex border at Flimwell.

Firefighters from East Sussex were joined by colleagues from Hawkhurst after receiving reports of a person trapped inside a vehicle.

Police closed the road for several hours at the junction with Lady Oak Lane with diversions put in place while crash investigations got underway.

Emergency teams said the trapped woman suffered serious injuries in the collision and later died. The four other people had minor injuries.

The woman who died has not yet been identified. An inquest will be held.
