Woman pedestrian 'serious' after collision

A WOMAN has been left seriously injured after being struck by a car as she crossed the road near a filling station.

Kent Police are seeking witnesses to the collision on the A28 Canterbury Road at Birchington, at about 6.30pm last night.

The victim, who is aged 69, was crossing outside the Total petrol station when a silver Citroen Xsara, heading towards Westgate, collided with her.

The woman's injuries included broken bones. She was taken to the QEQM hospital at Margate where she is said to in a "serious but stable condition".
