Woman seriously hurt in crash

FIRE crews freed a woman from a Rover car following a road crash near the Hop Farm Country Park, near East Peckham, last night.

The firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to release the woman following the accident on Maidstone Road just before 7pm.

Police say the woman is believed to have broken both legs and an arm. Six other people were also taken to hospital for precautionary check-ups.

A police spokeswoman said: “All seven people were wearing seat belts. Had they not been the extent of the injuries could have been greater.”

Fire crews from Tunbridge Wells, Paddock Wood and Matfield attended the accident. The road was closed until 9pm.
