Youths attacked in street

TWO teenagers were robbed and assaulted by a group of youths as they carried a television from one home to another.

The pair, who are friends, were walking down Maidstone Road, Rochester, when the robbery happened.

A group of about eight or 10 youths approached the two friends and one started punching them. One of the victims, who was covered in blood managed to get away and get help from regulars in the Who'd A Thought It pub in Baker street.

One customer who didn't want to be named said: "One young guy ran into the pub with blood all over his face. He told us they were being robbed so a few of us went out to see if we could help. His friend was being held-up against a wall and a few of use went over to help him.

"They stopped assaulting him and began to make their way off. Some of them were wearing Burberry style caps.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: "One man from the group approached the victim and then punched him.

"The other youths also started punching the victim and his friend. The youths then took the TV that victim was carrying and also his mobile phone.

"Neither teenagers needed hospital treatment.

"One of the offenders is about 20, and 5ft 8in and had a goatee beard. He was wearing a blue baseball cap and blue hoodie."
