CHARLTON have had a £3million bid rejected for Hibernian midfielders Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson.

The Addicks offered £1.5million for each player, but Hibs chairman Rod Petrie turned down the approach.

Mr Petrie told the club's website: "I arrived at the office to see that an email had been received from Andrew Mills, the general manager of Charlton Athletic.

"The email contained an unsigned offer of £3million for the transfer of both Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson. I sent an email back rejecting their offer."

Brown, who had a transfer request rejected by Hibs earlier this month, and club captain Thomson signed long-term contracts in March, but they are seeking improved terms and there has been much speculation surrounding their futures.
