Aston Villa 1 – 0 Charlton Athletic

CHARLTON’S recent dip in form continued as a second half goal from Steven Davis earned all three points for Aston Villa on Saturday.

The only goal of the game came with 22 minutes to play when Milan Baros’ shot hit the crossbar and rebounded out to young midfielder Davis who produced a superb finish into the top corner.

The closest Charlton came to a goal was a Darren Bent effort that flashed just wide of Thomas Sorensen's far post.

Charlton: Andersen, Young, El Karkouri, Hreidarsson, Powell (Perry 83), Kishishev (Murphy 67), Smertin, Murphy, Ambrose (Lisbie h-t), Thomas, Bent.
Subs Not Used: Myhre, Spector.
