Martin Allen is in no rush to announce any new arrivals to his back-room team.

Last week saw the departure of development manager Mark Patterson, head of recruitment Mike Robbins and analyst Josh Schofield.

Following them out of the door at Priestfield was director of football Andy Hessenthaler.

Allen will bring in his own men to bolster the ranks behind the scenes in the coming weeks.

He said: “I have made some changes and I need to look at budgets and to review everything.

“First and foremost I need to let the dust settle before I get cracking. They were important decisions and not decisions I like making.

“It’s been a busy few weeks since we played Burton (in the final league match). We’ve been away with the players, had the team meeting and made some changes.

“I personally now need to have a break, settle down, come back to my office with a clear mind and try and put together a team that will challenge next year.”

Allen had the backing of former manager Hessenthaler behind the scenes last year and praised the man who was partly responsible for employing him.

“He gave me total support,” said Allen, on the departing Hessenthaler.

“I am grateful to Andy for bringing some of these players to the club and for the support and backing he has given me at this club."
