Kent and Pakistan pace bowler Yasir Arafat has been handed three penalty points under the ECB’s disciplinary code of conduct for bowling two accidental beamers in the space of three balls during Kent’s T20 clash with Essex, in Chelmsford last week.

Arafat was reported by umpires George Sharp and Neil Mallender for a Level Two breach of the code (bowling an accidental high full-pitched delivery) when bowling at Essex player James Foster.

He was immediately taken out of the attack and his over was completed by Ryan McLaren.

He has received three penalty points, which will remain on Arafat’s record for a period of two years.

The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
